Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem:
Many people suffer from Anxiety and/or Depression. The majority may not even know that they are experiencing a significant problem. Instead they may just blame themselves for being inadequate, or too nervous, or always feeling down. They may not realize that their pain and suffering is not the result of too little will power or self-discipline, but is rather the effects of a true emotional illness that involves both psychology and biology.
Anxiety can range from mild to severe and include panic attacks. Depression also ranges from mild to severe and can be life-threatening. Merely being depressed increases an individual's chance of having a fatal heart attack. You can suffer from both anxiety and depression simultaneously. For anyone who experiences these disorders, their self-esteem takes a beating as well.
Recovery from these problems requires psychotherapy and may also call for medication. At the Life Center, our goal is to help you recover as soon as possible and to increase your feelings of empowerment in your life.
